Standing quad stretch

VeryWellFit: "Stretching the quadriceps muscles improves flexibility for this large muscle found in the front of thigh. This stretch is a common one used as part of a warmup or after-exercise stretching, especially for activities such as cycling, running, and yoga." [ID: standing_quad_stretch]

Instructions

First time: Hold for 10 seconds or more

This is a nice stretch that improves both flexibility and balance. Steps:

  1. From a standing position (good posture!), raise one leg behind you (balance!)
  2. Grab the foot and pull toward you to enhance the stretch; hold for 10 seconds
  3. Lower leg to the floor and try the other one

If you struggle to maintain your balance, then hold onto a countertop or something sturdy.
