Russian twist

Instructions

First time: Try 1 set, 10 reps

Steps:

  1. Start position: Sit on the floor with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor (easier) or raised up off the floor (more difficult)
  2. Contract your abs and sit at about a 45-degree angle
  3. Contracting your abs, twist slowly from your torso to your right and touch, pause to hold the position a moment
  4. Contract your abs and twist your torso back to the start position, then twist to the other side
Details

Progression: Hold a medicine ball or dumbbell while doing your Russian twist.
