Butterfly stretch

Instructions

First time: Hold the stretch for 10 seconds or more

Steps:

  1. Sit upright on the floor/mat with good posture
  2. Bring your feet together in front of you
  3. Maintaining your good posture, let your knees gently fall toward the floor. You should feel pulling and tension in the groin. Apply gentle downward pressure to your knees to enhance the stretch.
  4. Hold position for 10 seconds (or more)

Throughout the stretch...maintain your good posture and engage your core.

Progression: Hold for 30 seconds. Try a Lying butterfly stretch (video below).
